Alpha Pregnancy Center – Albany

Alpha Pregnancy Care Center, commonly known as the “Alpha Center,” exists to be a refuge where those dealing with pregnancy issues can find unconditional love, acceptance and truthful counsel, reflecting God’s great love and respect for each individual.

Albany Serving Opportunities:
Bible Study Leader – Women needed to lead or co-lead a Bible study for clients; Monday at 1:30pm, Tuesday at 12pm or Thursday at 11am

Childbirth Prep Class Teacher/Assistant – Teach or assist with a childbirth preparation class, breastfeeding or baby care class; must be a nurse; Wednesdays at 1pm

Parenting Class Teacher – Teach or assist with a parenting class to clients (class material and training provided); Tuesdays 1pm – 2pm, Wednesdays 1pm – 2pm or Thursdays;  3pm – 4pm

Peer Counselor – Support young women facing an unplanned pregnancy; attend counselor training to work directly with women in crisis pregnancy situations; connect clients with community resources where they can find services they need; at least 2 hours between 9am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday

Office Assistant – Assist with clerical duties including answering phones/door, signing volunteers in/out, typing/filing; interact with clients and volunteers; at least 2 hours between 9am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday

Resource Assistant – Assist with buying food at the Regional Food Bank; assist with pick-ups of food and diapers at Regional Food Bank; pick-up donations at various locations and deliver to Stork Room; sort donations; supervise and provide direction to clients as they sort donations and clean; at least 1 hour between 9am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday

Stork Room – Sort, clean and organize donations; assist clients as they shop with their mommy/daddy dollar credits; supervise client volunteers as they work in the Stork Room; at least 1 hour between 9am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday

Childcare – Assist with childcare during parenting classes; Monday 1:30pm – 2:30pm, Tuesday 12pm – 1pm, Wednesday 1pm – 2pm, Thursday 3pm – 4pm

Cohoes Serving Opportunities:
Bible Study Leader – Women needed to lead or co-lead a Bible study for clients; 1+ hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays

Childbirth Prep Class Teacher/Assistant – Teach a childbirth preparation class, breastfeeding or baby care class; must be a nurse; Mondays or Thursdays, mornings or evenings

Parenting Class Teacher – Teach or assist with a parenting class to clients (class material and training provided); daily mornings or afternoons

Peer Counselor – Support young women facing an unplanned pregnancy; attend counselor training to work directly with women in crisis pregnancy situations; connect clients with community resources where they can find services they need; daily mornings or afternoons
