Hey Latham fam, did you hear the good news?! This past weekend, Pastor Rex announced that we have a new campus pastor coming on board at Latham THIS MONTH!

Several months ago we set out on this journey of finding God’s person to be the new Campus Pastor at Latham. As the original and largest of our four congregations, Latham requires an exceptional leader. Only a truly wise and gifted leader can fill this role and do it well.

We’ve been quite thorough, talking to and interviewing many people locally, as well as people from across the country, in an effort to find just the right person for this important job. Just like many of you, our elder board and leadership teams have been praying persistently for us to have wisdom, patience, and confidence as we wait on God’s provision for this position.

We believe we’ve found God’s person for this position. After much prayer and deliberation, and many conversations, we’ve decided to offer the Latham campus pastor position to a young man named Mat Saxon. Mat has experience in the church world as well as the business world. He is a seminary graduate and has great theological training. Over the course of the past few years, Mat has also worked in full-time ministry at churches in South Carolina and in Florida, and when we were put in touch with him there was a pretty instantaneous connection. He and his wife Nikki came up for a visit about a month ago, and we engaged in many hours of conversation with the Elders of Grace, along with the Latham Staff, and we believe he is God’s person for the Latham campus pastor position.

Right now, Mat and Nikki are preparing to move their family here to the area before the end of this month. His official start date is Monday, November 26 and his first weekend here with us in service is going to be December 1 & 2. We’re SO EXCITED to welcome the Saxons to our Church family and can’t wait to see what God does through.
