Backstretch Employee Assistance Team
Backstretch Employee Assistance Team is a nonprofit organization that was started in 1989 for the benefit of the backstretch workers at the three NYRA tracks: Belmont, Aqueduct and Saratoga. They provide a multitude of services for the individuals who care for the horses on the backstretch. These include, but are not limited to, on site counseling, health care services, funded health care insurance, transportation and translation services.

Serving Opportunities:
Sunday Night Dinners – Setting up and tearing down chairs/tables for dinner, including linens and centerpieces
Saturday Night Karaoke – Setting up and tearing down chairs/tables; serving pizza/soda; be an audience while the workers compete in Karaoke
Transportation – Transport workers to and from various appointments; on an as needed basis
Computer Room Assistance – Open and close the computer room; assist with emails and Skype; Tuesday and Thursdays, 4pm – 8pm
Translating Services – Fluency in Spanish is required; translating is needed for various appointments as well as on-site clinics
