Founder and Director, Pastor Isaac Wagaba

God’s prophesy of Canaan Children’s Home was fulfilled in 1996 beginning with two abandoned children. During the reign of the infamous dictator Idi Amin, when Pastor Isaac lay on a heap of bodies, shot and left for dead, he heard a voice “Isaac, I have saved your life so that you may save the lives of my fatherless children.” Strengthened with the energy from God, Isaac crawled from the pit and ultimately God fulfilled His promise, beginning with those two abandoned children. Today, in Buziika, Jinja, Uganda, he serves the God who saved his life. Isaac is a father to the fatherless, abandoned, neglected, abused and orphaned children due to the ravages of HIV, Aids and wars.

Canaan currently cares for 60 children between 4 to 14 years, grouped into four families, which are each under the care of a foster parent. They also care for a number of older children who have been integrated back with relatives but who are still under the care of the Canaan ministry, through a scholarship project.
